Product Review: Earmor M32 Headset
Hearing protection and communications are both very important when it comes to training and operations, where hearing could be permanenetly damaged by loud noises generated by gun shots, artillery and explosions and the Earmor M32 slides right into the sweet spot for both functions with a fraction of the price of other competitors like MSA Sordin and 3M Pletor Comtac. Powered by 2x AA batteries, the Earmor M32 / M31 headsets are rated at NRR 22 dB, which decreases (22-7)/2= 7.5 dB to surrounding sound without affect your hearing to the surround environment. A Nano coating has also been applied to surface of speakers, so water would not enter the electronic parts.
The Earmor M31 is also differed to the M32 as the later one has a built-in mic and line-in, while the M31 only has line-in function, no mic. The M32 is able to connect to Z-Tactical / Earmor PTTs (Push-to-talk) that connects to your radio, no matter it is Yaesu, ICOM, Kenwood two-pin, Midland, Motorola Talkabout, Motorola two-pin and 3.5mm Auxiliary jack they are all covered with respective models. A leather head band and size adjustment system is found on top so it will securely and comfortably stay on your head and adapt to different head sizes.
At only the fraction of the price to M32's competitors, it is a marvelous piece to own as it offers great comfort, great functionality and practicality to who needs a cheap, reliable, easy to use headset to shield some of the damaging noises on the field while providing capabilities to use radio functions (when connected correctly with your radio, of course).
*PS we also have the helmet mounted version that adapts to most modern helmets with side rails.
