After I had such a good time doing the Top 10 movies for fellow airsofters, I have been dying to do a list for video games since gaming is my second passion! I hope you guys enjoy my personal Top 10 list!
Number 10: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
CoD: MW3 was one of those games you love and hate. Well, at least I did. I really enjoyed the multiplayer part of the game because it was very stable and didn't have too much lag even on the XB360.
The best part of this game was that the gun play was extremely fun and even though there were some ridiculously stupid weapon combos (Akimbo FMG9s....I still have nightmares) it was not rage inducing levels of stupid. The campaign was also great, the opening was typical CoD with explosions everywhere that had you going WOW...
Number 9: Battlefield 3
Even though I have never been much of a Battlefield guy I can understand the importance of this game. The Battlefield series has been known for more realistic game play and the need to try and be tactical, unlike the previous game where it was just run and gun.
Though not huge on the campaign, its the multiplayer that really counts when it comes to this game. No wonder there are still people playing Battlefield 3.
Number 8: ARMA 3 (Arma series)
Touted as probably one of the most if not the most realistic tactical shooter there is out there, the ARMA series has gained a significant following and is a great way to even practice small tactics with friends.
Both fun and has a good amount of realism, a great game all round. Not to mention you actually need to be aware of what you are doing with your team, good game for the serious gamer.
Number 7: Halo 3: ODST
Low-key this game is probably one of the best games that Bungie made. Putting aside my XBOX and Bungie bias, everything from the story, to the setting, to the score, to the overall tone of the game, it was a major departure (at the time) to the previous Halo genre. The ODST game made you a "normal" human. You actually had to be stealthy, careful in picking your battles, tactical even, to survive in the city of New Mombassa.
ODST was the first Halo game to also introduce "Fire Fight Mode" which unleashed waves upon waves of Covenant enemies at you. The most fun I have had was coordinating with friends to survive and get those high scores.
Number 6: Command and Conquer: Generals
I have been a fan of the old Red Alert series for a long time. And C&C Generals was a pretty good addition to the Command and Conquer line up (at that time).
It was fun and easy to get use to, in terms of controls. A fair entry for the real time strategy genre.
